Does my laserdisc player need a good cleaning or what?
1999年4月19日 · It sounds more like the lens alignment is off. It obviously needs a cleaning too if alot of dust was on the tray. Excessive dust inside can interfere with the rail that the laser rides on. It usually a problem on side 2 playback first because the rail over top of the disc tends to get more dust than the one below.

I forget which size fuse (2A/125 or 2A/250 -- I think some of the combo units may use a slightly different size) , but it's a pretty std size available at any Electronics store or online.

2002年10月30日 · The "480" in 480i and 480p refers to visible scan lines. It's the same number for all NTSC sources. DVD is 480. Laserdisc is 480. Even VHS is 480. When you're trying to compare quality of image, you're talking about "lines of horizontal resolution" (a/k/a TVL). DVD has app. 500; LD has about 425; broadcast has about 330; VHS has about 230.

Video noise is rarely a symptom of dirt and more likely a misadjustment which can result from age and/or shipping.

With a receiver that can cross feed its composite input to its component or S-video outputs, there is a third comb filter in the picture, that inside the receiver. It is used if you run composite from the VCR or LD player to the receiver, and S-video to the TV. Still, you want to use the best of the three.

2005年3月28日 · The 504 is a very respectable mid-line deck that offers a good "bang for the buck" as a jump into LaserDisc. It does not come with original remote or manual. This is one of the first players (if I recall) to output AC-3 so with a RF demodulator you can listen to glorious 5.1 sounds on LDs that offer it. Plays and works fine.
