In my opinion, the two best doughnut shops in town are Stan the Donut Man on Wilmington Pike and Bill's in Centerville but when I was growing up in Belmont, Charlie's Donuts on Smithville was the best. I'm going to stretch the topic slightly from donut shops to include bakeries as that's where we got our donuts.

2012年1月11日 · 9:36 AM. Henry's Bakery in the 500 block of Salem Ave. (near North Ave.) had the best cream-filled donuts. This was a must-stop location before and after delivering Sunday morning papers. The Cake Box Bakery on N. Gettysburg had the best glazed donuts in the '70s and '80s when Joe Rocky owned the place.

Stumbled into this board looking for history on the Golden Rod Music Store on Main, near the old firehouse and Brown Derby Restaurant. Down from Van Cleve Elementary with the Hobby Lobby across the street.

Food items I remember from my youth at Dorthy Lane Market were fresh donuts (they had a donut making machine in about the area where the Coffee stand is now) and it would squirt the dough out into hot fat, then even flip the donuts and remove them automatically.
Diamond Club North Dayton
driver62. 175 posts. May 27, 2009. 8:10 AM. After the Diamond Club closed, it became a restaurant by the name of Yesterdays. After they closed, another bar opened called Diamond Lils. I was told the lady who owned Diamond Lils also owned the Diamond Club but I'm not sure how true that is. Then it became an AMVETS post.

The cow atop Moler’s Dairy on Smithville - DAYTON HISTORY …
2014年10月27日 · Jun 23, 2014. 9:44 AM. Moler's did have a cow. When the dairy closed around 1981, the cow was sold to Reiter's Dairy of Barberton OH for $1,000. Reiter placed it in front of and later on top of their dairy there. Reiter was later purchased by Dean Foods. In 2009, Roadside America reported the cow was gone.
