Not sure if the diverticulitis caused it or if diverticulitis was a result of it - I'd gotten very chilled and dehydrated the day before, and that may have caused an episode of ischemic colitis.

Much to my surprise the doctor said that was a symptom of a prolasped uterus, (pain during intercourse, constipation,and cramps) I felt like crying because I have had so many problems with my uterus and fibroids over the pass few years. When these news reports come on TV, etc. they sure never said how severe estrogen withdrawl could be for someone without their ovaries.

They can't do a colonoscopy while you have an infection because of the risk of puncturing the colon with the camera (during an infection the inflamed walls get thinner), but a couple of months later, when things had settled down, I had a colonoscopy to survey the extent of the damage.
