2,775. Midwest. May 18, 2019. #17. 1) Doesn't look like any ash I've had either. 2) Keep an eye on the 'shop sharpened' chains... sometimes they tend to go fast. If you see any metal bluing on the teeth, they went too fast, overheated the steel and tempered the hardness out of the steel.

Fetch the straight, clear chunks, or cut out straight portions to firewood length.

Dead ash still standing end of September, when's it safe to burn?
2011年10月6日 · You definately "can" burn it freshly cut. However, I do not recommend it. In my experience, the borer-killed standing dead does have a lower moisture content than living ash. Mine burns great after 6 months in the stack. If the OP's was standing dead a couple years, I would think the tops could be burned right away.

2010年8月14日 · An ash has opposite leaf arrangment and hickorys are alternate. Think MAD-V (Maple, Ash, Dogwood, Viburnum) all have opposite leaf arrangment (except for alternate leaf dogwood).
